Buffalo-Niagara Metro Fine Art Photographer captures Macro Images without a Macro Lens.

Macro photography is one of the most challenging types of photography you can compose.

Many photographers in fact obtain a dedicated macro lens. I have a sigma 150mm macro lens that i utilize when I do macros. I have tried some other types of magnification filters, but the results have always been mixed. I noted other types of glass I could use, like the raynox clip on filter, but I opted to look at the Nisi version because the claims state that it can turn any zoom lens into a macro lens. Full review and demonstration to follow.

I will let you decide. Using a Sony Camera and a Canon 70-200 f2.8 with the Nisi Filter attached I composed these images. I also used an off camera flash and had to focus stack the image to get the depth in detail.

I will be posting a follow up video in this post which will show you the technique I used to capture these images. Here are the images. They have been uploaded to the fine art gallery and will have them for sale in the near future.

Share your thoughts. I would love to hear what you think of Macro Images captured with out a Macro lens.
