The Red Headed Woodpecker, What can I say they are the most elegant woodpeckers around, I was lucky enough to have found these two mating pairs and they're home at lakeside beach state park. I enjoyed their presence and didn’t seem to mind that I was enjoying theirs while they were cleaning out their home, it was a sight to see and the knocking sound coming from inside the tree and sticking their heads out to disregard the shavings from with in it was just absolutely amazing. Woodpeckers are my favorite and I never thought I would ever see a Red-Headed Woodpecker let alone two! And they’re home.
